Optimizer Invest invests heavily in American sports media and raises new capital

Optimizer Invest is a co-founder of The Game Day – a digital sports media company that monitors American sports through social media. The company, which has been active for a year, has expanded rapidly and now raises around SEK 40 million in new capital from American investors who, among other things, have a background from Facebook.

The Game Day was founded in 2020, in the middle of a pandemic, by Optimizer Invest and entrepreneurs Matt Heiman and Steve Carey. In just over a year, the company has quickly become one of the fastest growing digital sports media companies in the United States.

The Game Day has today built up a staff of just over 50 employees with offices in Malta, London and New York. The business concept is to monitor and analyze American sports by producing engaging content on social media. The company has built its own studios around the US where talent creates innovative formats on YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter and Facebook. The Game Day improves the live sports experience, which is reflected in the increasing number of users.

To date, The Game Day Network has gathered over 3.9 million followers on its social media, received over 150 million monthly views and continually surpassed records for audience growth.

The favorable start for the company has opened up for further growth opportunities. In a new round of financing, the company receives approximately SEK 40 million from well-known American investors such as Stephen Evans (Silver Lake), Matt Gaasenbeek (Stifel), Jim Ryan (former CEO of Bwin) and Beau Avril (Executive of Facebook). The new capital will support the company’s ongoing rapid growth, and provide opportunities to recruit additional talent, introduce innovative content formats, drive increased conversions, and create improved opportunities for revenue generation through new revenue streams.
